A "wild" bit of our garden and neighbour's sunflower field (Trachycarpus fortunei (Chusan palm))

This patch of our garden down/around the palm is completely filled with giant weeds. We know we have to do something about it but we've got no time.. Maybe we should cover the whole area with weed-suppressing sheets?

Wonderful scenery, Tommymoo. Good size of Trachycarpus. How old is it?
