Do you mean Phaleanopsis, an orchid, Buzby? If you do, repost your question spelling it right - what I know about orchids could be written on the head of a pin and still leave room to spare, but there are people on here who do know about them.

Hi Bamboo that is definitely how it is spelt as l copied it off the label that was in the plant......l have looked through all my gardening books but cannot find it anywhere...it looks like some sort of heatherish plant (although l have never had heathers before) it needed ericaceous soil and it has lovely pink bells on it...........Thanks for the reply anyway...

Okay, got it on line, though not the "sprite" part - type Philliopsis into the google box and you should find Phoenix, a plant company - this shrub likes acid soil, good rock garden plant, is a cross between two different plants. Whether that will help with your original question, I can't say, but I'd shear it over if the flowers are finished.
