Can anyone give me some advise on my berberis which are looking very woody on the steams and have some form of mildew or fungal infection. The steams are now looking very sorry for themselves and they are producing very little foliage this year. Photos attached and any assistance would be most appreciated as I have a number of them in a border and worried i will loose them all.

I remember something about this....can't quite place it right now but will try to remember what it is...... Is the corky growth coming out like wings or ribs down the stems?

Can't really tell what's wrong from the pictures - look like they're taken in fading daylight and no close up of problem areas. If you think they have a fungal infection, spray with a fungicide.
