I have been looking at my tomato plants in my greenhouse and the roots seem to be growing above the soil level is this ok and they just need re potting or is this another problem everything else looks fine

when mine are in the grobags or pots I do 'earth them up' a wee bit -- it seems to make them more stable

Tomatoes do produce roots from their stems, so it's perfectly ok to plant them extra deep so that the plants are less leggy and then they produce lots of roots from the stem as well as from the bottom of hte stem :-)

turn them out of the pots and see if they're rootbound, if so, repot.
