My rhubarb has gone to seed it is only in its second year and is now approx 5ft tall. What can i do to help the plant out.

Your rhubarb should not of grown this tall..Pull the stalks up and dispose of them , and when the new stalks get to about 8- 12 inches (when they are nice and redish)then pull the stalks of regularly , cook and enjoy.
As its in its 2nd year you will be able to start eating the stalks this year.
Because people do say you can NOT eat within the 1st year.
Once you have pulled the 5ft stalks off , it shouldnt take the new stalks long to grow back.
Hope this is of some help for you
