Me too, I'd leave half the stems in the 2nd year.

There is a real possibility you will kill the crown. Ours were still very small and weedy looking in 2nd year.

Hi Snoopdog, yes the first year rule applies don't harvest any of the rhubarb the crown needs the energy from the stalks and leaves.
