by daisy do you mean a daisy type flower or a species of Bellis.
there are lots of daisy type flowers ranging in height & colour and flowering season earliest daisy type being Doroconium [leopards bane] latest being the Aster family.

maybe you mean a Daisy like flower such as Helenium that has petals all round and ROUND CENTRE. Perhaps a Helenium like bigelovii The Bishop. Hardy, doesn't grow too high, get out of control, easy to split to make more plants, blooms a long time.

I particulary like the aster family. Eryngiums are low growing.

If you want big (2 foot high or more) how about echinacea (pinks, reds, white), or rudbeckia - there's a perennial yellow one,

How about the New Zealand daisy, Celmisia. The silvery couloured leaves last all year and there are some large species such as C. spectabilis.
