Likes a sunny situation, if its in a pot keep it watered, plant in either multipurpose or John Innes No. 2 in a pot, ordinary garden soil in the garden, no special requirements, but you probably should learn how to wrap and protect it during the winter months, specially if its a red leaved variety, and specially if you live in one of the colder parts of the UK.
