What does a white foam on stems of Anthemis tinctoria ECBuxton?

Answers

Probably 'cuckoo spit' This is a small aphid like insect which secretes the bubble like foam to protect itself from predators and the sun. Wash it off or wipe it off with your fingers and you will fine the little green bug on the plant stem, sucking away at the sap. It dies very quickly when exposed to sunlight and drying wind.
