Could anyone identify this plant for me please. The leaves are shiney and can be up to 5inches across.

I think that they are the leaves of the autumn flowering Colchicum aka "Autumn Crocus"?

I agree bulbaholic. I have lots of these at present. but they will ensure a good set of flowers in the autumn.

Oh thankyou both. I had thought that this plant had never flowered but having now read about it, I gather it flowers long after the leaves have died down? I had not associated the autumn crocus like flowers with these spring leaves. I was going to yank it out thinking it had failed to flower again. (lol)

How do I say thanks?
