I leave mine until I 'have' to pull them out, Jac - and even then, I can often just cut them back and get more flowers. Yes, they do seed themselves...but that's fine by me! I planted a packet of mixed seeds a few years ago, and some flowered white, others pink, as well as the normal blue. They do come up white and pink still. A nice cheap way of getting pretty plants! :-0)

Hi Jacque, At last a chance to write on a subject I know something about I have had for-get-me -nots growing for five years to add colour and act as weed control something they are very good at.When they finnish flowering and start to look shabby I just run the hover mower over the top and sure enougth up they come again doing this they produce flowers from March right through to October / November as well as seting seed. They seem to thrive on my poor soil. Downside is they do get every where.
Best wishes for Summer's recovery

Pull the old plants out and shake them - they will seed and you will spend the rest of your life wondering if you will ever get rid of them!! They are rather lovely though and fill up empty spaces until everything else grows. Some of mine have gone pink or white over the years.
