My compost bin usually has loads of worms in it, but at the moment they all appear to have vanished! Plenty of ants though! Anyone know the reason for this?

Thanks for replies about runner beans. I will just have to be patient! Regarding the Bay Tree, I find it impossible to dig up the little ones without disturbing the whole tree. Thanks anyway.

i would say its too dryas well, but also if you have alot of acidic things, worms dont like that either
