Please does anyone know the name of this Potentilla? I can't find it in my books. I got it at an open garden, and all the label said was 'white potentilla'. It's a tall one! Thanks.

My answer will be - 'It's a white potentilla!' lol.
It is a lovely one - I'm pleased with it, Sbg. :-))

It could be P. recta alba.

Thanks, Ob. That would make sense! I think that's what I'll call it. :-)))

The only thing that worries slightly is that P. recta has much more serrated leaves than the ones on your plant seem to have. I am still looking, but there are a fair number of named hybrids around.

That is kind of you, Ob....:-))

It is the only one I can find which is that tall. The one I have is a creeping alpine white flowered thug!

This is quite a neat plant, and it is indeed tall, so P. recta 'Alba' it shall be! Thanks. I'll pass on your thug if you don't mind - I have enough thugs of my own! lol.

Went and had a look at my P. recta (seed weed of the first order) and the leaves are very similar to your plant.

Are you telling me that this will seed itself? That's good - I might get a few plants to sell next year, Ob!! ;-))

Well, if it does set seed and they grow into white plants, please may I have some seed?

Definitely! :-)))
