Hi I have just bought a yellow alyssum that is looking straggley, if I cut it back will it carry on flowering, I want it to cover my concrete wall I errected to hold back soil.
This is the wall.

I always give mine a haircut with shears when they've flowered - and they send up another flush of blooms. I know yours is new, but I'm sure it will respond.

Thank You both for the info, Ha! You never guess what, silly old me! I put Ericaceous Compost into the holes before planting them, do you think I should start again LOL

I think on balance that you should, Ladyessex. Bamboo might know different - but mine thrives on neutral soil.

Agree with Spritz, if possible start over with non ericaceous.

this plant should be cut back after its flowered - if you do it now, you will lose any flowers present on the plant, but it won't kill it and it will regrow, though unlikely to flower again this year.
