I have a Salix Flamingo tree, the leaves are all dry and falling off on inspection I noticed it is covered in green fly. I have some spray to treat it but can I pune it back now or is it too late as it is looking very bare.

I have check soil which seems fine, so I have given it a prune and hope for the best

You can prune it back if you want, it'll regenerate over the next few weeks, otherwise wait and see where new leaves spring from. Check for drought too - or it may have been frost which caused the new leaves to shrivel and drop.
