Does anyone have experience of growing begonia plugs. Are they naturally slow growing. I've just ordered a load and then remembered why I haven't had them for years. A few years ago I bought some and they were so slow growing it was September when they came into bloom. As lovely as they were I gave the lot away as I was sick of the sight of them and got no pleasure from the blooms- only anger that they had taken so long! My neighbours were well pleased though !!

Begonias are infuriatingly slow. They do better if you can give them some gentle heat - a cheap propagator might be a worthwhile investment.

They will get going when the weather warms up a bit, I find them quiet good natured, they take most things the weather throws at them.

I grew some in 2011 hoping they would make a stunning display for my sons wedding in the summer. They didn't! It was September when they were at their best and they were beautiful. Am growing more again this year for a late showing.

How do I say thanks?
