I planted my onions some time ago, but am finding a few which looks as if it has been cut through half way and left hanging. It is a clean break and not been nibbled. Can you help me please. Thanks

I'm guessing you are refering to the leaves and not the bulb? Sometimes the leaves do snap off halfway down (could be top heavey, nor knocked by an animal or by wind/rain, or overenthusiastic watering on your part!). Don't worry - it's perfectly normal.
