There seems to e something affecting my Apple tree this year some of the ends of branches seem withered, Its a Crispin that I have had for many years.
Also can anyone tell me what weed this is next to the path in the back garden, I'm plagued with them this year.

Well I think you are right this time Bryony I just googled it and walla up came the same plant as mine................Its a Nuisance though as it will grow anywhere taking root in walls paths etc............I also have a border in the front garden which has been taken over by St John's Wort, now that seems to have confined itself to just the one area, and I do like the yellow flowers with their red tipped stamens.
Maybe I should turn my cellar into a Laboratory and produce and sell Herbal Remedies............:o)
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :o)

Just noticed the leaves on the apple tree start going white and curl in on themselves before becoming brittle, there is also small white dots under the leaves.

I am not very good at identifying plants, but isn't that valerian? If so, it might look quite pretty and 'cottage gardeny' when it flowers.
