My rhododendron is the same, not flowering very well. Not opening up properly, flowers drooping, soggy and very sticky?

Did the buds get frosted Grandad?

don't know if buds frosted. The buds are practically open but have been like that for about 6 days they are soggy and limp and quite a few of the buds are going brown and dying off, only one has opened and that was six days ago

any ideas what it could be then?

Been told it could be flower blight, flowers buds go soggy and later brown and drop off

for what reason? is it likely to keep happening year after year?

Nick is this happening to your flower buds too?

only when the the buds start to open
