I have a rhubarb crown in a half barrel container. It fruited the first year, but each subsequent year it has been less productive, this year all I have had is about 8 little finger sized sticks and it is not growing any more. What am I doing wrong - I thought anyone could grow it easily!!

The crown has grown too big for the container and has not had enough room to mature. You will have to settle for what you have this year. Take the crown out in late October, take off a part and replant it back in your container with new compost. The rest can be divided and planted elsewhere.

How do I say thanks?
