I am trying to make a barked area for my young child to play on over a pond. I have filled the pond in with broken concrete and gravel, what next? I also want to grass over the gravel area I now have.

Thank you for that. I ordered some topsoil yesterday, so i'll be working on the area next week.

« How do I get rid of a shrub called Symphoricarpos, it's out of control.
Bark isn't really a great surface for play - its usually full of little biting insects, and isn't good on tender knees and hands. It would have been better to remove any liner that was present for the pond, and fill in with topsoil and then lawned. Or if it was a small pond, turned into a sandpit (though you'd have to have kept it covered in some way).
