Can anyone suggest climbing plants/ground cover for a very steep, dry bank - we are doing our best to eradicate the brambles and weeds - has anyone tried to grow a rambling rose up a bank ?

You could try honeysuckle or climbing roses.

I've got a rambling rose growing on a bank. I want it to go upwards but it tends to keep trying to come forwards and grow back downhill again.
What about periwinkles? They come in large and small varieties and variegated and plain. They'll need less attention than the rose.

Hi, thanks for your input -Beattie i might try a rambling/climber but plant it at the top of the bank in the hope it will come down !

Hi Alextb - will try a honeysuclkle - again from the top.

Have planted 8 'Canary Creepers' grown from seed but like beattie's rose they insist on coming down.

Thanks for your comments Grandmamoy
