We had a fabulous wisteria which in mid-season withered and died for no apparent reason. As it now shows no sign of life we are going to have to dig it out... not easy as it is on our house wall! Should we plant another in this position or like roses should one not plant on the site of a diseased one? Any advice please

I would give it more time, We had one that we didn't want, but it took about 10 years to get the message, ours was partly under the house.
