Hi everybody, I've just been given two Hydrangea cuttings, that I've put in tub's, could you please tell me what I feed them on to get them established. Also I have brought two Hebe's, I need the same information on these. Thanks Ian.

If unsure about feeding I think its best to err on the mean side. Unrooted cuttings shouldn't be fed at all but as SBG says its a difficult time of year to root them. Too much feeding can produce soft growth and you may find slow and steady makes stronger plants in the long run. If they are growing well there's no need to worry.

Thanks for that, they are well rooted, I just wondered what I needed to do with them now. Thanks again. Ian.

when you say cttings are they already rooted? if not then they need to go into a small 3" pot with good compost kept just damp in a warm place to root. but tat this time of the year that's a challenge. If they are already rooted then the compost will have food to last for 6-12 weeks. then you can either feed with the miracle grow type water in/on fertilizer, according to info on the packaging or you can mix in slow release granules. I prefer the granules that I add every spring.
Similar advice for the hebes really. Over time check they don't get too pot bound. if they do repot into bigger pots or pop them into the ground.
Make sure they don't get too dry as that will check their growth.
