I have recently had a potted Lilly bought and was advised not to put it outside until may/June, I have kept it watered and after the flowers have died off the leaves have turned yellow + are falling off I would be grateful to know why this has happened if possible please, thank you .

possibly too wet and too warm.
As I have these growing outside in the garden they would benefit from going out side. but not all in one go. so remove the paper from the pot and put it outside in a sheltered spot during the day. Then early evening bring it indoors into a cool space/porch/garage would be ideal.
Keep doing this for 2 weeks and then it can be planted out in the garden.
make sure you keep it watered and watch out for the bright red lily beetles that enjoy munching on them.
They wont reflower this year but they will next year.
