Hi all, I planted half a tray of leeks and shallots in a modular tray, they are all now identical in shape and size but like an idiot I forgot to label them up.
How can I tell which is which at this early stage.? I guess they're about 6 weeks old now.
Many thanks, John

Can you explore gently with a pointed label or a small fingertip around one of the plants to see if there's a young shallot under there? Even if you damaged it you'd only lose one plant... But aren't the leek shoots slenderer than the shallots?

I'll try that but to me above ground they are identical
Thanks for taking the time to answer
