You can certainly sow carrots and peas - remember to sow successively for a longer cropping period.

No tender plants though, we had a really sharp frost this morning, I leave it until mid to late may and harden off well beforehand

Shouldn't beetroot be sown direct into the ground from mid April onwards? I didn't know it transplanted well?

Monty Dom gardener expert mentioned in paper about 2yrs ago about growing Beetroot in individual pots ( or cells ) Then when grown decent size transplant into garden . This I have done before and was very successful.Worth trying out yourselves ( I like experimenting with new ideas ). A Challenge .
