For the past two months I've had an infestation of tiny winged creature who thrive inside my flat. I've used many rolls of sticky tape which is the only thing that seems to help. My local garden center said they think it's aphids but I have no roses in my garden and nothing like this has occurred in the twenty-odd years I've lived in London. Can you help. They are too tiny to photograph I'm sorry to say with my equipment. Thanks.

Awww! I had the tiny flies I think you are talking about, I had bought some plants in from being outside, I used fly spray around the plants and shut the door on the room, WOW! The top of my bookcase was covered with hundreds of them, I had to do it quite a few times as they must of come from the soil as some of the plant I had repotted with fresh soil, I'm free of them now thank goodness LOL :o))

they sound like fruit flies. They would have come in as eggs on fruit and then they will have hatched and become adults. Or do you make home brew? Again probably fruit flies.
The best solution is to spray with fly spray and then close all the doors and do this in all the rooms until all flies are dead.
check any fruit bowls and wash the fruit well.
