Identify for me please? This was in a packet of mixed perennials last year, it is about 40cm tall. Have added new photo of the flowers which are arranged around the plant above the leaf axils. Anyone got any ideas please?

I think it's a Geum of some kind. Is it damp & shady where it is growing? It could be Water Avons, Geum rivale. Look up in a wild flower book to see if it fits.

Can't help with the ID query, but I did recognise the Welsh poppy in the background, and possibly bronze fennel in the fore - I had a moment of panic when I thought it was the rear end of a very large caterpillar...
