when can I plant out a potted Magnolia stellata?

Hi, as they're in the garden centres now it should be ok to plant it out now - prepare the hole first, as for any plant, to give it the best start. I bought a Magnolia Susan a couple of weeks ago, put it in a big pot and it is now in flower.
