My 10 year old mountain ash developed almost overnight signs of disease in some of the new leaves. Is there anything I can do, eg remove all the deseased leaves where possible. I hope it is not fatal. I submit several photos for you to study, and I hope you can give me some advice.

Well it looks like a blister mite infestation - if you take one of the leaves off and cut open one of the blisters, you might find a mite inside to confirm the diagnosis, though you may need a magnifying glass. Its pretty bad, isn't it, but there is no treatment other than to remove infested leaves, provided that doesn't mean you have to remove them all. The tree should fruit normally though.
