Yes, Ambealice , it's called Coleus canina and it repels cats and dogs. I think Soliva pterosperma is another name for the same plant (but not sure).

It was on sale at our local garden centre last year and said it repelled rabbits as well but unfortunatly they seemed to like it ! -- it was marketed as 'scaredy cat'! so hopefull it will :o)

A lateral thinking solution would be to plant Valerian root (Valerian officinalis, not Centranthus ruber known as red Valerian) somewhere where the cats don't matter. They would spend all their time visiting this plant instead of your garden plants, especially if you dig a root up and bruise it. To cats it's like ecstasy or opium, not that I've ever tried them!

Yes Bertie, my parents used to have the golden leaved version of this plant and their cat Toby used to decimate it Lol

Sorry, I made a mistake earlier: Soliva pterosperma is in fact a bindi-i weed (evidently young people get mixed up too!) Coleus canina does have another name, but I can't remember what it is :o)
