Nelly Moser, Clematis! First, you'll need to put up some clematis mesh or something thin enough for the petioles to wrap around, needs to be something about the thickness of a pea stick. Clematis mesh is easiest, or green coated chicken wire. Second, bear in mind your clematis will want to go straight up, so you will need to train it sideways, in which case, it doesn't really matter where you place it - probably in the middle is best. This plant does better with some shade - the flowers fade quickly in full sun.
