Can I grow a ' Golden Showers' climbing rose in a large pot provided it is placed against a support?

Hi, welcome from me too, as Scotkat says, you could grow it in a large pot, although it would be much happier in the ground, it reaches about 10 ft in height x about 6ft wide, so not particularly vigorous, Derek.

...And even bigger evcentually - I've sene one covering most of a house front, and lovely it was too. It wouldn't do that in a pot though.

Welcome to Goy Caulie
I am sure you could .
This is a beautiful climbing rose ,I have this on mŷ Arch with Graham Thomas honeysuckle .
And have roses in pots but not my climbing rose.
You could have a trellis in the pot.
Good luck and enjoy
