I think you might have to accept that tomatoes are something you just can't grow - the plants will grow alright, and they may well fruit, but without more hours of sunshine in mid to late summer, the fruits will not be very good - not sweet enough, not ripe enough. You could just buy any tomato plant and grow it to see what results you actually get though.
