Hi I have a dry piece of garden under four tall pine trees that floods two or three times a year. This then brings new weeds. I have tried growing grass but the weeds still way overtake the grass. What can I plant to cover the weeds that looks good most of the year? I live on a river in North Devon.
Thank you.

It is not necessarily how deep it floods it is the force of the water which has taken down reinforced fencing so the membrane and stones wouldn't stand a chance. Thanks for trying though.

« I have a tall white Buddleja, how far should I cut it down by?
Depending how deep it floods would weed supressing membrane then raised stone troughs work?
you could fill them with shade loving plants.....
