Mine took 3 years to flower - like yours produced foliage every year. So my advice would be to follow Derek's advice and have patience :)

I totally agree with Derek. I had lovely agapanthus in pot which I thought would look good in garden. Big mistake. Plenty of leaves but no flowers for two or three years, then read about them needing to be pot bound. Dug them up, with great difficulty, split them into two pots and guess what? following summer, beautiful pot plants! Six flowers in each pot. There they will stay!

Thank you Derek My agapanthus is now 14 inches high now and is looking great, one thing though if it likes to be compact what will I have to do when I put it in my garden? Pathumwan

Hi, actually it doesn't seem to bother them the same when they're planted in the garden, I have 1 planted in 1 of my borders, I have it about 12" away from a tree trunk, and last year I had 16 flowers on it, try to plant it where roots from other plants will compete for the space available, Derek.

Hi,Agapanthus, if grown in containers, like to be potbound, and as it's a small plant, your container is too big, try repotting it into a smaller container, the roots will probably be quite spread out by now, which is why it hasn't flowered, try to squeeze the roots into a smaller container, they don't usually flower until later in the summer, so there is a chance you could get some flowers this year, Derek
