Not sure what a funky smell is Georgiamum. Ours smells a bit 'funky' as it's under a Rowan tree in heavy blossom!!! Depends what you add into it perhaps. Not too much left over food I hope.......saving the planet and all that. If it gets very hot where you are, it might smell a bit whiffy for a while. The compost that comes out the bottom is usually moist and rich and very little aroma.

No leftovers except sweet potato skins and coffee grounds. It has been a bit wet lately with all the rain so maybe its that?

Sounds like it needs some lime to sweeten it - go and buy some activator for compost, mix it in (just the amount recommended) and that should sweeten it.

Try turning your compost as the smell might be caused be lack of air and the compost becoming stagnant.
