Hi my cordyline bark is falling of one sids and it looks like a family of woodlice is in it , do I need to take it down its about 20ft and feel a bit spongy where bark of? Thanke ger

Yep, I'd take it down beyond that point, although it might be sensible to check the trunk right down to the base first, to make sure there aren't any other soft or soggy spots. If there are, take it down beyond those - cut at an angle to allow rain to run off.
