hi
could any body please shed light on my problem?
2 weeks ago I planted several hundred plants (trailing geraniums, bizzy lizzies and stock) into troughs for a commercial contract. All plants were very healthy when they were planted. On checking them yesterday I found a number of the bizzy lizzies were dying or had gone completely. I am confused as the geraniums and stock are coming on nicely, and the bizzies affected are random in that some that are in the same trough continue to flourish.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
The troughs are on balconies, some of which are more exposed to the elements. With the heavy rain we've had, is it possible that the affected plants have been waterlogged???
thanks

if in full sun that might be a problem, but they do suffer from a mildew that has affected bizzies for several years.

I'm surprised nurseries are still selling bizzies as the mildew is pretty well everywhere now and there seems to be no cure. . If you plant the New Guinea hybrids they will not be affected. I would complain to the supplier who should know better. I see Tesco are still selling the originals too.

thanks for the replies. I don't think it is the sun as ones planted in the same position are still healthy and they are new guinea!! I ordered them because of the mildew issue.

I lost a New Guinea one last year to what looked suspiciously like the rot that affects the ordinary ones. It just totally collapsed, although another in a neighbouring pot was fine.

Oh dear that's really bad news. No more bizzies then!

How do I say thanks?
