Hi, take a semi ripe cutting, that is when the stem is just getting woody at the bottom, in late summer, about 4" long, cut just below a node, [leaf joint] trim off the bottom leaves to leave a couple of pairs, use hormone rooting powder if you wish just dip the bottom inch or less into the powder, then tap it onto the side of the container to remove excess powder, an using a small dibber, place round the edge of a 3 1/2" pot, preferably a clay pot, containing a cutting compost, John Innes seed and cutting compost is ideal, water them in, and place in a cold frame, make sure they don't dry out, pot them individually when rooted, grow them on until they're large enough to be planted out in their permanent positions, this could be 3 or 4 years, Derek.
