How do u take a cutting what do u put it in

Different plants require different treatment, Tommy, so you need to tell us which plant(s) you are hoping to take cuttings from.

There are different types of cuttings depending on the type of plant. There are stem cuttings, root cuttings, leaf cuttings, eye cuttings...etc. For example, if you were at a friends house and there was a beautiful African Violet in their home that you would like for yourself, you would take a leaf cutting. Also different types of cuttings require different mediums to grow in and perhaps even rooting hormone. So as Bulbaholic and Botanic recommended, post a list of plants which you would like to take cuttings from and to be sure you will get very specific recommendations for each one in no time at all. Oh yes, before anybody says anything, I always requested permission to take a cutting first....to the best of my recollection!
