Can I grow a prunus serrula (Tibetan cherry) in a pot? The tree is about 6ft high currently but doesn't seem to be entirely happy in the corner of our garden.

I agree with Loosestrife - it wouldn't do well in a pot, and in particular if yours is in the ground and currently 6 feet, the root spread will be pretty big - cherries tend to put out long surface roots as well as rooting down into the ground.

This particular tree can grow slowly up to 30 ft. so it is not a dwarf one which can be grown in a pot. I would say no. But to be sure if I am wrong others will let you know. I have two of these trees and though they are not nearly the max height ,I cannot imagine them in a pot.
