I have just had my first crop of potatoes from my containers, could you tell me if the compost or soil left is any good for more crops or has the goodness been taken out of it.

As Stera says don't use for potatoes or any other solanum.

Yes the goodness will have been used up but can be replaced by adding fertiliser. But it is not a good idea to grow potatoes in the same soil two years running. You can safely use the compost for something else.many peopl just add it to beds and borders to improve the soil.
