Both my Holly bush and Bay tree are losing leaves now. They are getting black spots on some leaves, then they go yellow and drop off. Am I likely to lose the whole plant or will they survive if left alone.

Photograph of the problem would be helpful - could be leaf spot of some kind. Don't forget, though, that all evergreens lose leaves, so it rather depends how many the plants are losing - natural leaf loss should not be at the top or from newer growth. Check the stems and branches for scale insect.
