I have a climbing rose, at least 30years old, which produces two very strong, ten feet high shoots every year but only one flower. I don't know it's name but the flower is pink flushed yellow and the inner petals are yellow. Nicely scented too. How can I encourage it to produce more flowers?

Mulch, feed with a high potash feed and train the stems along horizontal lines such as ropes, wires or fence top (depends on where it's growing). What pruning do you do?

Try bending to long shoots over more to the horizontal, which encourages flowering side shoots.
