It was me what suggested the name on there, but there was a certain amount of disagreement.

leaves are wrong for a liatris, they are thin and strappy as is typical of cormatous plants.
Echium was my first thought too. seems too chunky for a Veronica or could it be a Tuechrum?

Wrong shaped leaves for all the Teucriums I grow.
So no further ahead as of yet.
Echium candicans looks a likely candidate!

now I like that plant, have googled it and it certainly looks like it is that one. Is it perennial or will I lose it I live in Lincolnshire 40 miles from the coast fairly dry area (usually) it certainly looks good and I am not usually a fan of blue flowers but I love that. Wherebouts is it growing Owdboggy as in which area of the country?

Echium candicans - I should have known (well am trying from seed this year). Ness is a great garden - all should visit.

I had Liatris 20 yrs ago & slugs wiped them out. Only the label was left.....They were tiny & delicate not big like in your pics.
