My son has just moved to a new house - peach tree in garden but in poor shape! See photo. Many dead branches, leaf curl, but new leaf growth on tips. We were told it has fruited in the past. I am a keen gardener but have never dealt with a peach tree before. would love t know what can I do to get it back to a nice looking, fruitful tree.

You could do no worse than googleing the problems with the tree. If you have curl on the leaves it is usually peach tree leaf curl which is fungal and quite hard to treat. Your tree looks as if it needs a good prune, but I haven't grown one before.
