I have for the past 3 years tried to grow veg' The problem I am experiencing is that they produce large and tall plants with very little actual veg. For example my sprouts stand 4 feet tall, Cauli's mybe 2 and half feet tall. My potatoes tops are over four feet tall. None of these plants can support themselves, due to their height.
What am I doing wrong?

I don't know just how you grow your veggies, Danny but it sounds as if you may have applied too much nitrogen into your soil. Nitrogen promotes green leafy material rather than flowers or roots. Do you use chicken manure as a fertiliser for example. This is nitrogen rich and better kept for cabbages etc; even then used in small quantities.
North Yorkshire - your plot isn't on some, now disused, industrial land that might have a nitrogen rich soil?
