I have bought a standard Lavender, which has silvery leaves, and to touch has a strong lavender smell, but up to now there are no purple flowers on it. Will it flower, it is a spikey tree.

Don''t give up yet as its a young plant, it may surprise you later. There are varieties that flower later in the summer as well as late spring/early summer ones.

thats quite strange if its not flowering now since its summer! but it should flower mabye next year?
